Auditions
Auditions are required for membership in the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sinfonietta. Instruments being accepted are: violin, viola, cello, bass, flute (piccolo), oboe, bassoon, clarinet, horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium (must also play trombone), tuba, percussion (timpani, drums, mallet, drum set).
Auditions will be used to determine the level of musicianship of each student and the student's placement in either the Philharmonic Orchestra or the Sinfonietta. It will also determine the seating assignment in each section including concertmaster and the section leaders.
Audition dates and locations will be announced at a later date.

Woodwind, Brass and Percussion
All major scales are to be played in two or three octaves as possible on your instrument. All scales are to be played ascending and descending tongued or slurred as required by adjudicator.
Auditions for the Philharmonic and Sinfonietta orchestras will be held at the Baldwin High School band room.
