2021 - 2022 SEASON
The Maui Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is currently working with small ensembles and is planning for our 2022-2023 season beginning in September 2022. We are looking forward to collaborating with the Kamehameha Schools Maui Hawaiian Ensemble, performing music arranged by Mr. Siuai Laufou in December 2022. Please fill out our contact information form so we can let you know when classes and rehearsals will begin. We are looking forward to rebuilding our full orchestra, violin, and cello classes, and continuing our small ensembles.

There will be no audition for entrance into orchestra for 2022. In lieu of auditions, we will be asking for a teacher recommendation.
PREREQUISITE for Philharmonic Orchestra: Students must be able to read notes fluently.
Teacher recommendations should include a confirmation of the following:
- The student has had a minimum of 3 years of experience playing their instrument with either private instruction, group instruction, or both.
- String students should be able to play 2-octave scales and arpeggios in the keys of D, G, A, F, Bb, and Eb.
- Violinists interested in playing Violin I should be able to play 2-octave scales and arpeggios in D, G, A, F, Bb, and Eb AND 3-octave scales and arpeggios in G, A, and Bb.
