solid intonation, developing and mastering vibrato will allow students to continue their advancement to their highest potential. We will be playing various genres of music which will require varying techniques and nuances. Private lessons are required.

attendance policy

As a part of a “music team,” which is very similar to an athletic team, every student is important! Students are highly encouraged to attend classes every week for their benefit and the benefit of the ensemble/team as a whole. This takes a commitment to your team/ensemble.

At the same time, we understand that situations do occur. Students are allowed 3 absences in each semester, or 6 for the entire year. It is imperative that parents notify the instructor if their child will be absent. While these absences are allowed, it is the students/parents responsibility to contact the instructor to find out what was missed and be prepared for the next class. If help is needed, please ask your private or class teacher for assistance.

Please let the instructor know of any extenuating circumstances that may require individual consideration regarding our attendance policy. Students must be at the rehearsals the week prior to concerts and should make every effort to be in attendance for the last 2 weeks before a concert. This is a priority.

financial assistance

MYPO is reaching out to various funding sources to assist in covering the tuition fees if needed, especially at this difficult time. We will not turn students away due to financial reasons, but will work with each family to find various, workable solutions. Please see email mypomaui@gmail.com or call 808-283-6723 to discuss your situation.
